Erlensee / Hessen – Thermo Electron LED-Wald

In 2025, diseased beech trees were removed from the municipal area of Erlensee in Hesse due to prolonged periods of drought.

Sooner than expected, 18 emplooyees from Thermo Electron LED spent an afternoon at the site in Erlensee. The weather cooperated, and when we got started at 1:00 p.m., we were also able to welcome Andreas Amberg from the City of Erlensee’s Department of Civil Engineering and Parks. The soil conditions—loose and sandy—were ideal for planting. Thanks to the clearly marked areas, everyone was able to find their way around easily and quickly get to work on their own. As a result, 400 English oaks were planted in just 1.5 hours, and we were able to thoroughly enjoy the rest of the afternoon in the sunshine.
The Hanauer Anzeiger and the Main-Kinzig Echo reported on the project.

Etwas müde wirken sie schon 😉

We are pleased that Thermo Electron LED from Langenselbold will be joining us for the second time to plant trees. We will begin work on the site in March.

The Erlensee municipal forest provides a wide range of ecosystem services and serves, in particular, as a local recreational area for the residents of Erlensee and Hanau. We are therefore very pleased that, as early as spring and fall 2026, we will be able to plant a new forest of English oaks on this site in collaboration with Thermo Fisher.
