In consultation with the forest owners and the responsible forester, we conduct a site inspection to assess the condition of the forest area and plan the reforestation measures. Based on soil conditions, existing natural regeneration, and slope orientation, we work together to determine the type and number of seedlings, as well as the necessary protective measures.
We involve forest owners in our sustainable approach. The forest owner is responsible for selecting the site and preparing for the planting. During the planting, the forest owner and the forester are on site to coordinate the process.
In consultation with the client/donor and the forest owner, myreforest handles the public relations efforts. We coordinate interviews, symbolic tree-planting events, and the preparation of press releases with the relevant department. Forest areas can be named after your company. We install an information sign at the forest site, complete with a QR code linking to the project page.
Over a period of five years, the young trees are pruned at least once a year, watered as needed, and replanted if necessary.
The forest owner contractually agrees not to harvest the forest area for 80 years in accordance with sustainable management principles (only thinning to promote growth is permitted). Due to legal requirements, this commitment can only be legally enforced for a maximum period of 30 years. The remaining years are therefore a voluntary commitment by the forest owner or their descendants, which is not legally enforceable in Germany. To date, we have always been able to secure such voluntary commitments from forest owners. We specifically seek forest owners for whom the sustainable ecological aspect is a priority.
As a nonprofit corporation, we issue tax-deductible donation receipts to our donors and supporters.
