It serves as a space for leisure and recreation, provides shade and purifies water, and improves the local climate. In addition to its vital role in offsetting CO2 emissions, we also rely on it for flood and avalanche protection.
All of these functions are increasingly under threat and have become the focus of public debate. Regional business initiatives in this area are generating an overwhelmingly positive response.
Team events / Community engagement
Myreforest is committed to re-establishing a stronger awareness of the forest and its importance for people and nature.
That is why we sometimes organize our reforestation projects as team events (e.g., for employees or customers), thereby reconnecting participants with the forest. In doing so, we bring the local community together with private forest owners and foresters and create forest days that are rich in experiential activities. Anyone who has ever reforested a section of forest under guidance can view and appreciate it with new eyes. We ensure that participants have a regional connection to the forest area, enabling them to visit “their” forest frequently by bike or on foot.
At the start of a planting day, the forester welcomes participants with an introduction to the topic of forests and climate, with a local focus, and continues to share background information and interesting insights throughout the planting process. Experience has shown that part of the forest area can be planted during guided team events. The remaining area is then reforested by professional companies. The strenuous day concludes with a shared meal and the opportunity to reflect on the day’s shared experiences.
We can provide forested areas near your company’s branches or offices and organize team-building events for your employees and customers. This allows us to combine your company’s regional roots with employee engagement and effectively showcase your reforestation efforts to the outside world.
Transparency
myreforest documents each project on the corresponding project page of its website. The forest area can be located via Google Maps using geocoding. The condition of the forest area is documented at least once a year with current images.
Public Relations
In consultation with the client/donor and the forest owner, myreforest handles the public relations efforts. We coordinate interviews, tree-planting events with company representatives, and the drafting of a press release with the relevant department. For companies, we offer the opportunity to name forest areas after your company and use this in your public relations (“Your Company” Forest). We install an information sign at the forest site. A QR code directs interested parties directly to the project page.
Financing
myreforest is funded by donations from individuals and companies. As a nonprofit limited liability company, we issue tax-deductible donation receipts to our donors and supporters. Our nonprofit status under Section 60a of the German Fiscal Code (AO) has been confirmed by the Freiburg-Land Tax Office.
