Irndorf / Baden-Württemberg

North of Irndorf, on the edge of the Swabian Alb, we manage 0.4 ha of a former pure spruce stand. Windthrow, bark beetles, and red rot have taken a toll on the stand.

The high level of game damage prevents natural regeneration and allows mainly elderberry to thrive. We plan to establish a mixed deciduous forest here in the near future.
