This 0.2-hectare area in Hochspeyer, not far from the Leutenberger Hütte, was cleared in 2023 due to a bark beetle infestation.

On this gently sloping area with sandy soil, group plantings of sweet chestnut and Norway maple—as well as black locust along the path—are planned. The broom will be left in place.
